Developing skilled human resources in eye care through rigorous practical training, certified 2-year MLOP diploma courses, and specialized ophthalmic paramedicine.
Shortage of trained Mid-Level Ophthalmic Personnel (MLOP) is a critical hurdle in preventing avoidable blindness in Bangladesh. Deep Eye Care Foundation established the Deep Institute of Community Ophthalmology (DICO) to bridge this gap.
In academic affiliation with national accreditation bodies and with technical support from LAICO (Aravind Eye Care System, India), DICO provides intensive clinical training, hands-on theatre exposure, computerized refraction skills, and patient counseling. Over 500 graduates have successfully passed through our institute.
